Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Loci ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of service

Loci is a script memorisation app for actors and performers. It provides tools including progressive hiding, voice grading, cue line playback, teleprompter mode, and self-tape recording to help users memorise dialogue and rehearse performances.

User accounts

You must create an account to use Loci. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering. You may not use another person's account without permission.

Subscriptions and payments

Loci offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and refund policies.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store account settings.
No refunds are issued for partial subscription periods, except where required by law.
Pricing may change at any time with reasonable notice.

User content

You retain ownership of any scripts or text you import into Loci. By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the service. We do not use your script content for any other purpose.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any scripts or text you import. Do not import copyrighted material you do not have the right to use.

Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code.
Use the App to infringe any third party's intellectual property rights.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its infrastructure.
Use automated tools or scripts to access the service in a manner that exceeds normal usage.

Intellectual property

All content, design, code, and trademarks in Loci are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the App as described herein.

Third-party services

Loci uses the following third-party services, each subject to their own terms:

Supabase — for account and data storage.
AWS Polly — for partner-line voice synthesis. Line text is sent to AWS to generate audio.
RevenueCat — for subscription management.

Disclaimer of warranties

Loci is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements. Use the App at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of opportunity.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support.lociapp@gmail.com.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of material changes via the App or email.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
